"One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art." --Oscar Wilde

Personally, I'd rather do both!

This community is for discussion of wearable art--concept attire that goes beyond the realm of "costume". Not sure what that means? Here is a site that should give you an idea.

We welcome project brainstorming, process/construction technique info, materials source queries, trades/swaps among members, gallery/show reviews and contact info, etc. Photos of your work are more than welcome! Please post them behind lj cut tags, however, for politeness' sake.

Delurk posts are acceptable, though not required. If you do post a delurk, please tell us a little bit about yourself, your artwork, preferred media (if any), links to pix of your stuff, that sort of thing.

Important Information on Topicality:

This is NOT a community for discussion of label-worshipping couture, alternative &/or subcultural fashion, home sewing tips, crafty creations, or clothing you made from commercial patterns. There are plenty of communities out there for those interests. Here are some we have found that welcome those posts, for your convenience:

If you made something from fabric/yarn/thread/etc but you can't wear it, it's topical in fiberarts, not here.
